DIY e-liquid making. Where to start?

Since the early days of vaping there have always been people who preferred tinkering with their e-cigarettes, coils, and tanks rather than using ready-made solutions. Not surprisingly it is the same in the case of e-liquids: diluting, mixing flavors etc. It has slowly progressed to a point where people are making DIY e-liquids in their bedrooms and living rooms. These days you will find user created ratio calculators, nicotine strength calculators, e-liquid recipe calculators and other tools helping you make whatever e-liquid you may desire.

If you are a connoisseur of flavor or want to save some cash on your e-liquids you probably already thought of making your own juices. Soon, with the recent TPD regulations, it may turn out to be much easier and cheaper to mix your own e-liquids rather than buy ready-made liquids […]

NicBase DIY – TPD ready nicotine bases from Chemnovatic

Tobacco Products Directive introduced by the EU puts multiple restrictions on the manufacturing, packaging, and sale of e-liquids and nicotine bases. As we all know, according to current regulations the sale of nicotine bases and e-liquids with nicotine strengths above 20mg/ml to the consumer is strictly forbidden, as is the sale of any liquids containing nicotine in packaging larger than 10ml.

These two conditions basically put an end to DIY e-liquid manufacture – no more diluting of high content nicotine bases, no more mixing your own e-liquids at home, no more favorite flavor combinations etc. In theory…

We have dedicated some time and resources to work this issue out and have prepared something that may interest DIY vapers in Europe and possibly other parts of the world. Chemnovatic has prepared a complete line of TPD-ready […]

Nicotine shots – dealing with TPD regulations

Before the introduction of Tobacco Products Directive (TPD) many nicotine base manufacturers were looking for a solution to oncoming nicotine products regulations, even more vapers were in panic, frantically buying e-liquids and nicotine bases in bulk to fill their stashes before the ban comes into force. Two main concerns were: online sales ban in many countries for all products containing nicotine and the limit put on nicotine strength (no more than 20mg/ml) and volume of nicotine liquids (not more than 10ml). What does that mean in practice? Whoever filled their cabinets with bases and liquids is vaping or DIY mixing e-liquids as we speak, others are stuck with what is available online (only nicotine free) and in their local stores (only up to 10ml and 20mg/ml). Well at least until recently […]

Natural nicotine bases – a green alternative to PG nicotine bases

During the Euro Vape 2017 vape show, Chemnovatic received an Innovation Award for a range of PDO natural nicotine bases. Most people have no idea what are nautral bases and why are they so special.

Your typical nicotine bases consist of a mixture of Propylene Glycol (PG) and Vegetable Glycerin (VG) and nicotine.

PG is a petrol derivative and is widely used in various products (cosmetics, medicine, food industry, etc.) because of its low cost and the fact that it is non-toxic.

In our natural nicotine bases, we have replaced PG with PDO (Propanediol, also known as Vegetable Propylene Glycol) – its natural equivalent which is manufactured from VG (Vegetable Glycerin). It is GMO-free, renewable, and sustainable, and reduces CO2 footprint by 70% compared to PG.

Propanediol has the same […]
