Glycerine 99.5% (Glycerol, 1,2,3-Propanetriol) is a highly purified, synthetic chemical raw material in the form of a colorless, syrupy liquid with strong hygroscopic properties. Thanks to its high purity and universal physicochemical properties, it is widely used in many industries – from pharmaceutical and cosmetics to chemical and technical.
As a trihydric alcohol (triol), glycerine dissolves perfectly in water and ethanol, and thanks to its ability to bind moisture, it acts as a humidifier, stabilizer and carrier of active substances. In the pharmaceutical industry it is used as an ingredient in medicines and ointments, in cosmetics it improves the consistency and moisturizing properties of products, while in technical applications it is used, among others, in the production of plastics, dyes, e-liquids and explosives.
